 tant Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Social Work\,
  present research regarding child welfare cases regarding domestic violenc
 e\, drug use\, and neglect - a training specifically created for the King 
 County CASA program.    Many CASAs will remember Rebecca when she worked i
 n King County for the Department prior to pursuing her Ph.D. at the Univer
 sity of Washington.  During her 6 years at the Department\, she worked as 
 a CPS investigator at the King East and King West offices\, a CFWS worker 
 at King East\, and ended her tenure at the Department as an Adoptions supe
 rvisor.    While she lives in North Carolina\, she remains an avid Seattle
  Reign\, Seattle Sounders\, and Seattle Storm fan as her heart continues t
 o be in the Northwest.\n \nAt UNC\, Rebecca both teaches MSW courses and c
 onducts research which examines the measurement of and community responses
  to child maltreatment.   Rebecca specializes in using population-based li
 nked administrative datasets and data science techniques to better underst
 and child maltreatment. She is the principal investigator of the NICHD-fun
 ded research project\, “The impact of COVID-19 on child maltreatment-relat
 ed medical encounters and system responses using linked administrative dat
 a.” Rebecca is currently funded by a K01 award from the CDC’s National Cen
 ter for Injury Prevention and Control to study the relationship between so
 cial safety net accessibility and violence against children\, which includ
 es training in causal inference methods (K01-CE003548-01).\nHer work has b
 een published in academic journals\, such as The New England Journal of Me
 dicine\, Pediatrics\, and Child Maltreatment.  Her degrees include: Ph.D.\
 , University of Washington\, MSW\, Boston College\, EdM\, Harvard Universi
 ty BA\, University of Portland.\n
